Wedding Toast for the Best Man

best man toast speechThe Best man wants his toast to be one that people will always remember.
When they bring up the wedding day, everyone will recall the best man's toast. Below are a few examples of a best man speech.

BEST MAN TOAST #1:
I'd like to welcome everyone, and begin by introducing myself. I'm Bob Smith, and I'll be your Best Man for the evening.
But before I make my Toast, I'd like to pose a question to the Groom...  If I'm the BEST man at a wedding...the BEST man...what does that make you? Well, I thought about it, and I have my answer:
I'm the Best Man. But you're...The Lucky Man. And Jill, in your heart of hearts, you know you're pretty lucky too.

I've known this guy my entire life. And he has been the kind of friend everyone strives to be, the kind of friend everyone hopes to have. I think the true definition of Great Friend is someone who knows everything about you...and has the good taste to never bring it up. But the funny thing about the two of us was, whenever one of us wanted to do something really...unwise...the other was there to talk him out of it. When Jack wanted to jump off the garage roof with only an umbrella, I talked him out of it. When Jack wanted to wear the powder blue tuxedo to our senior prom, I talked him out of it. And when Jack wanted to drill a hole in the wall of the girls' locker room...well, we both pretty much agreed on that one...

But then, one day, not so long ago, Jack came to me, and told me he was thinking of asking Jill to marry him.
I did not try to talk him out of it. Not for a second.

Because from day one, there has been a sparkle, an aura around both of you that everyone can see.
We should all be so lucky. So please, raise your glass, and join me in toasting the luckiest people in the room.

To Jack and Jill. A lifetime of happiness, health, and success.

BEST MAN TOAST #2: This one occurred at a wedding just last month. The groom was 44 years old, and it was his FIRST marriage. Not the handsomest guy around, everyone thought he'd never be married. And unfortunately, it is what a number of well meaning but unthinking guests actually said.

Here is the Best Man's impromptu response:

I'm going to set a trend here tonight by being the ONE person who will neither think nor say out loud "Gee, we thought for sure you'd never get married."

Because I don't think you waited so long to get married. I think you simply waited for the RIGHT person to come along.

And while it hasn't been apparent to us over the years, your search was methodical and perfect.
To your Bride To Be, through wonderful twists of fate, you've also been blessed with the eyes to see and the heart to know when the right person came along for you.

I've known this guy all my life. No one in this room has known him longer. But you now have the privilege and joy of knowing him...best.

To you both, a day of perfection. A night of bliss. A lifetime of blessings. And may your home always be too small to hold all who love you.
(The Toast took only a minute...and there was not a dry eye in the house.)
