On the north side of the canyon is Kokee State Park, which features a natural history museum, walking trails, and lunch at the Kokee lodge.
The northern side of Kauai is cooler and wetter, sparking in its green glory. More resorts can be found, as well as shopping and food. The road ends at Kee Beach, where tourists can swim and snorkle. A few miles before the beach you will see a dry cave that is open for exploration.
