Honeymoon Destination: Kauai PDF Print E-mail
When it comes to Hawaii, many people think of the island of Maui when searching for honeymoon destinations. However, the garden island of Kauai has a lot to offer for newlyweds who enjoy relaxation and the great outdoors.

Kauai is a quiet and beautiful island retreat for couples. The island boasts collections of lush trees, cliffs, and canyons to explore. Weather in Kauai can sometimes be difficult to predict, but the temperature usually averages around 85 degrees. Hurricane season runs from June to November, and the rainy season typically lasts from December to April.

However, do not be deterred by threats of rain; you will discover that even the rain on Kauai is beautiful, as it comes and goes quickly and leaves a welcomed cooling sprinkle.

Tourists can drive along the main road that runs almost all the way around the island for a scenic panorama of what the island has to offer. The south side of the island is known for their sandy, sunny beaches. This is a premier destination for sunbathers, surfers, and snorklers, since they are generally safe for year-round use. Golf courses, fine dining, resorts, and timeshares are also in the area.

Heading west you will can drive up the Waimea canyon. If you choose to do that, be sure to bring a since it can get chilly as you climb to 4,000 feet above sea level. On the north side of the canyon is Kokee State Park, which features a natural history museum, walking trails, and lunch at the Kokee lodge.

The northern side of Kauai is cooler and wetter, sparking in its green glory. More resorts can be found, as well as shopping and food. The road ends at Kee Beach, where tourists can swim and snorkle. A few miles before the beach you will see a dry cave that is open for exploration.

You will find that Kauai’s people are some of the friendliest you will meet. The people in the hospitality industry work very hard to ensure that their guests have an enjoyable visit. They can assist you with finding whatever activity you may be interested in, such as helicopter touring, golfing, hiking, horseback riding, and water sports.

Kauai is a great destination to relax and enjoy just about any activity that is imaginable. Enjoy your trip!
