GO: How involved were you with your wedding?
WS: I suggested the wedding date and wedding place, which she agreed to. Then, because she is better at organizing, I let her run the show.
GO: What were elements that were important to you to be included in your wedding/what did you contribute – verse, music, ideas, etc?
WS: It was important to me to have what would make Sharon happy. Other than a small idea here or there, which I can’t remember, my contribution was paying for it.
GO: When and where was your wedding? Did you have many guests, etc. What was the best thing about the wedding?
WS: December 5th, 1993. The wedding and reception was held in a small banquet room of the Desert Inn Las Vegas. We did a Mexican buffet and had a Mariachi Band. The best thing about the wedding was that it was simple…lots of family and a handful of friends.
GO: What is the secret to a happy marriage?
WS: Truthfully I really don’t know for sure. I believe it helps if you can grow together spiritually. And, even though it’s tough sometimes, try to be what they call “mature” adults.
GO: Questions our grooms would love answers for:
How will they know the woman they’re with is “the one”?
WS: It will be the woman you want with you more than any other when your back is against the wall.
GO: What is the best advice you can give a groom for his wedding day?
WS: Stay sober. Smile. On this day especially say yes and okay all day long.
GO: What is the best advice you can give a husband for a successful marriage?
WS: Ask God to help you live, love, and lose gracefully. In all things be fair. Stay sober.
